Providing lifelong care that is: safe, effective & dependable - for all of our community.

September 2020 - In order to keep our patients safe, the surgery is continuing to operate a triage model of care.  Once your care needs have been assessed by a clinician - either by phone or by reviewing your online consultation - please be assured that you will be offered a face-to-face appointment if the clinician feels that your care cannot be handled over the phone.

Please use Online Consult - This is a new service for all NHS GP Practices and our reception team can walk you through how to use it.

Further to recent Government Guidance on wearing face masks, please see document from Worcestershire & Herefordshire LMC, stating that our GP's are not in a position to provide patients with exemption letters.  There is more information about this in our NEWS section of this website.

We have been issued with Guidance Notes for Parents of Children who are Self-Isolating from Worcestershire & Herefordshire LMC.  Further information is in 'Our  Documents' section of this website.

Bereavement care

for patients of Fownhope Medical Centre

At some time in our lives we will suffer loss, and developing ways of coping with loss can be difficult.

For a while our doctors and staff have been concerned that there is insufficient care and support offered to those who have been bereaved. We have introduced a new service which we hope will bridge the gap providing support relevant to each individual need.

Sarah Coomer is our bereavement support worker attached to the surgery. She is able to provide, on a voluntary basis, a range of options for those experiencing loss. These may help individuals struggling to cope or provide signposting to alternative support agencies.

Sarah has many years of experience as a professional in the NHS and has undertaken training in bereavement care. She can offer time to talk about feelings, worries or questions in total confidence.

How to access the service

Please contact the surgery reception on 01432 860235 and we will pass your name and number on to Sarah Coomer who will contact you to arrange a convenient time to talk.

All conversations are entirely confidential and can be over the telephone, or at Fownhope Medical Centre by arrangement.

There is no charge for this service.
