Providing lifelong care that is: safe, effective & dependable - for all of our community.

February 2021 - In order to keep our patients safe, the surgery is continuing to operate a triage model of care.  Once your care needs have been assessed by a clinician - either by phone or by reviewing your online consultation - please be assured that you will be offered a face-to-face appointment if the clinician feels that your care cannot be handled over the phone.

COVID-19 Vaccine - We are joining with our colleagues in S&W Herefordshire to deliver the COVID-19 vaccines from a central location in Ross-on-Wye.  Patients will be contacted directly to attend the clinics in the order determined by NHS England, starting with the staff and residents of care homes.  Be assured that as soon as you are entitled to receive the vaccine, you will be contacted.  Please note that in order to staff the clinics, we are having to reduce the number of routine appointments at the surgery.  Please be patient with our reception team if you are not able to book an appointment for the day of your choice.

Please use Online Consult - This is a new service for all NHS GP Practices and our reception team can walk you through how to use it.

Booking an Appointment

Surgery Hours

The surgery is open Monday – Friday 8am – 6.30 pm

Our telephone line is open 8am – 6 pm : 01432 860235

In addition to the practice’s normal opening hours, and additional surgery opening times as stated above, you can also book an appointment in the evenings and weekends.   This may be with a different GP, nurse or location than you are used to.  These appointments are pre-bookable by contacting the surgery during our opening times – please ask for an extended access appointment.

Making an appointment to see a Doctor: The Doctors have requested that all our Receptionists ask a little about the reason you'd like a GP appointment. This is so you can be directed to the most appropriate person. Please don't be offended if a Receptionist asks you what you are calling about.

Urgent appointments: If you need to speak to a doctor urgently, please ring as early as possible on the day - lines open at 8.00am. The receptionist will arrange for one of the duty team to ring you as soon as possible. If the doctor needs to see you, an appointment will be booked for that day.

Non urgent appointments: If you would like to book a non urgent appointment you can ring reception between 8.00 am – 6.00pm. Depending on which GP you wish to speak to,  you may need to wait for a routine telephone appointment another day.

Online Consult - this is a new service being offered by all GP services in Herefordshire: Using the online consult link, patients can access advice on hundreds of common medical problems.  If you would like to ask the Doctor a specific question, there is an opportunity to complete and email a form to us from this, which will be attached to your electronic records.  A member of our clinical team will contact you with a response within 48 hours.

Advice: If you need to speak to a doctor or practice nurse please telephone reception. The reception staff may ask you for additional information to ensure that your call is routed to the most appropriate person. Reception staff may suggest that a clinician will ring back, however please remember that they are dealing with a wide range of issues each day and the time may vary.
