Making an appointment to see a Doctor

Urgent appointments: If you need to speak to a doctor urgently, please ring as early as possible on the day - lines open at 8.00am. The receptionist will arrange for the doctor on duty to ring you as soon as possible. If the doctor needs to see you, an appointment will be booked for that day.

Non urgent appointments: We have appointments available for booking in advance. If you would like to book a non urgent appointment you can ring reception between 8.00 am – 6.00pm to arrange a time.

In response to patient feedback we have recently increased the number of pre-bookable appointments available. However, depending on the GP, you may have to wait several days for an appointment for a routine matter.

Telephone appointments: You can now book a telephone appointment for non urgent consultations during morning or afternoon surgery. This is a good way of discussing test results with your doctor or having follow up advice. Please call reception to make an appointment.

Advice: If you need to speak to a doctor or practice nurse please telephone reception. The reception staff may ask you for additional information to ensure that your call is routed to the most appropriate person. Reception staff may suggest that a clinician will ring back, however please remember that they are dealing with a wide range of issues each day and the time may vary.

Please note two of our consulting rooms are on the first floor. If you are unable to use the stairs please let reception staff know.

Please advise the surgery as soon as possible if you are unable to attend an appointment, this helps us to offer the best service we can.

We can now offer the facility to book or cancel appointments online, via Patient Access. You will need your unique I.D code for this service. Please look at our PATIENT ACCESS LOGIN page for information on how to register.
