Repeat Prescriptions

If you are a new patient please make an appointment to see a doctor before requesting repeat medication.

Repeat medication can be collected 48 hours

(2 working days) after your request has been received.

Herefordshire Prescribing Committee recommends that 28 days should be the usual treatment length for routine repeat prescriptions, and we comply with these recommendations at Fownhope Medical Centre. Where certain medications are only available in larger packs, exceptions to this rule apply, such as some hormone replacement therapies and oral contraceptive pills.

Different ways you can order your repeat prescription

  1. Use the computer slip from previous prescriptions and hand it in to the Dispensary when you collect your repeat prescription, it will be dispensed ready for you 4 weeks from this date.
  2. Use Patient Access to order repeat prescriptions online. See the Patient Access page for details on how to register for this service.
  3. Fax the Surgery on 01432 860900 with details.
  4. Post the computer slip to Fownhope Medical Centre , Fownhope, Hereford HR1 4PZ.

You can order repeat prescriptions by telephoning the Dispensary on 01432 860241 between 2.00 p.m. and 4.00 p.m. However, with the high volume of calls we receive, you may find that the dispensary number is often engaged. Therefore, it is advisable to order your medication by one of the alternative methods as suggested above. If you choose to order your repeat medication by telephone, please have all the necessary information to hand, to ensure that you order the correct items.

If you need glasses for reading don’t forget to bring them with you when you order your prescription! This makes things so much easier when you have to decide which medication you need!
