Our Doctors
The Doctors are available Monday-Friday for appointments, or advice by telephone (according to availability). The doctors are also actively involved with Herefordshire Clinical Commissioning Group.
Fownhope Medical Centre is also committed to training qualified doctors to specialise in becoming General Practitioners. We regularly have doctors working here on this basis who are overseen by the partners.
Dr Michael Hearne
MB.Ch (Cardiff) MRCGP Dip. Derm. DRCOG DFFP
Dr Hearne started work as a GP in 1997 & joined the team in 2000. He is also Clinical Director of Taurus Healthcare Ltd.
Dr Dinah Hawkyard
MB. CHB (Birmingham) MRCGP DRCOG DFFP
Dr Hawkyard started work as a GP in 2005 and joined the team in 2010. She joined the Fownhope partnership in July 2014. She lives in Lugwardine with her family.
Dr Richard Kippax
MB BS (Middlesex) MRCGP DRCOG DFFP T GP
Dr Kippax has worked at a Hereford City Practice for 20 years and joined the Fownhope partnership in July 2014.
Dr Sion Gibby
MA (Oxon) BM BCh, DGH DRCOG MRCGP
Dr Gibby started work as a GP in 2002. He has been a GP in London for 15 years before joining the Fownhope team in 2018. He lives on the Welsh Borders.
Dr Amy Larkins
MBChB (Aberdeen) MRCGP
Dr Larkins joined the Fownhope Team in 2022.
Our Nursing Team
Family Planning, Coronary Heart Disease Prevention, COPD, Asthma and Wound Management.
The practice nurse role includes; family planning, chronic disease management, travel and childhood immunisations, health care promotion and minor surgery clinics.

Health Care Assistant
The Health Care Assistant’s role includes; Wound care, New patient registration checks, Cardio Vascular Health Checks, Hypertension management and immunisation.
Jackie Westwood
Phlebotomist
Jackie is trained as a Phlebotomist and has 2 sessions each week taking routine bloods for patients. She is also a member of the reception team.
Our Practice Management Team
Bethany Wright
Bethany is our Practice Manager and joined the Fownhope team in 2022. Beth oversees the day-to-day running of the practice and is the first point of contact for our patients with non-clinical questions.
